Yvonne's Creative Journey to Madrid

Yvonne has travelled to Madrid to an arts workshop hosted by Arts Organisation Debajo Del Sombrero as part of a longer term Erasmus + project called Expanding realities which will see exchange or ideas, approaches and collaborations  between GASP Cork, Art in Motion (AIM) Bristol and Debajo del Sombrero Madrid.

The project is coordinated by CIT Crawford College of Art and Design and supported by Leargas.  The workshop in Madrid will be a change to engage with new method and approaches. Some workshop will be focused on visual response to performance art while time will also be spent working on a large piece of work on an outdoor wall.

Here are a selection of pictures of the work she is currently doing in Madrid:

Public Engagement for "People-Tools-Cities" @ The Sirius Centre

The work in People-Tools-Cities created many opportunities for public engagement. Yvonne's paintings inspired an activity whereby  participants had to match Yvonne's paintings with August Sander photographs.

Opening Night @ The Sirius Centre

On the 27th of March 2015, Generation and People-Tools-Cities opened. Yvonne had work in both exhibitions. Here are the final selections:

Yvonne Condon's 32 portraits for People-Tools-Cities. Acrylic on Board. Inspires by August Sander.

Yvonne Condon's Acrylic on board piece for Generation, inspired by Love.

Installing the work for People-Tools-Cities

Hanging Yvonne's paintings for People-Tools-Cities was a tough task for the people involved. There were so many beautiful colours working together in each painting, conversations between all the portraits and quirky details we could not ignore. 32 made the cut, if only there were more walls!
